Many people are complaining about how the president is handling things such as the ecomomy with the stimulus, bail outs, health care,GM etc. They feel that all of this is creating too big a role for gov't and contributing to large deficits.

So my question is,what realistic practical alternatives to handling these things could Obama have tried instead? Instead of his economic stimulus what else would turn this economy around? What would be a better way to reform health care?

Let the free market work.

If you don't like the alternative or want to dismiss it, fine. The Dems have that luxury as long as things are still holding together economically (e.g. you ain't seen nothing yet). But don't say you weren't given an alternative.

How would your free market health care alternative operate exactly?

Default Obama's Alternatives?

I've narrowed it down to a Swiss ski trip or a Caribbean cruise.

Similar to how LASIK costs have decreased over time, even with lots of monetary inflation. Productivity decreases costs. It works the same for health care as it works for laptop computers.

Insurance is meant for catastrophic cases, whereas doctors visits and preventative care should be entirely out of pocket. Costs would decline dramatically without the bureaucracy of the quasi-socialized health care system we have today, overregulated to the hilt.

Republicans (RINOs) still support high levels of regulation and the barrier to entry for smaller insurance outlets. They're are almost as guilty as Democrats in terms of damaging a once viable health care system. Personally, I blame HMOs and Medicare.

All you're going to get is the same tired old rhetoric.

Why didn't Bush and the republican congress he had for the majority of his term reform health care already with that approach? It's like republicans had their chance to reform health care with their solutions but didn't and now they're complaining about Obama's possible health care solutions.

First of all, why hasn't this decreased cost happened yet? We've had the same health care system for years but costs continue to rise..Lasik is an optional medical service. Secondly, what do you propose the majority of Americans do that can't easily come up with hundreds of dollars for doctors visits and preventative care? Should they wait for a catastrophe and pray that insurance covers it? This makes no sense. You can't treat humans like property or cattle.

Nothing new or different. He is not an out-of-the-box kinda guy. Strict socialist/marxist. They don't know another way than to destroy a nation. History revisited.
