Sarah brought her family into the public eye, and of course people are going to notice and comment on anything with scandal potential. You all used to insist about Michelle Obama " she's fair game," after Obama said to "leave my wife out of it."

She put herself in front of the national media half a dozen or more times. She's fair game now. This joke wasn't disgusting, mean spirited, vindictive, small-minded, hypocritical, etc. Like most of what Letterman says, it was mildly funny.

That's how I saw it. Willow attended a Yankee game and saw A-Rod play while in NY with her mother, hence the connection.

I'm fairly conservative and sometimes Letterman's liberal leanings can be annoying, but I didn't find this to be awful as people are making it out to be. I watched it the evening it showed, not after the fact and under the influence of other people's opinions.

I LOL when he made the slutty flight attendant joke. C'mon -- it was OK for Tina Fey to openly mock her for weeks on end, but a quick jab from Letterman and she's whining. Funny how things change when one is no longer trying to finesses the voting public.
