The audience for promoting hate, vengeance, and tyranny... Very small.
You have it backwards. This thread is about rightwing talk radio and precisely how promoting hate, vengeance and tyranny has netted them quite a large audience, relatively speaking. And nobody does it better.
I don't listen to talk radio because I don't need to be told what to think. That's the reason leftwing radio wasn't successful.

Perfect example of someone who listens to hate radio (i.e., alternate reality):
!) He thinks that other programs are plotting the overthrow of America
2) He thinks that they are promoting hate while listening to closeted racists
3) He listens to people espouse the virtues of Cliven Bundy, who didn't pay his taxes and then used a group of thugs with rifles to stand off the authorities.
And at the end of every program, the carnival barkers say that all of that is being done by liberals.

Promoting hate and vengeance is standard operating procedure for the left wing. Talk radio stands out on the right because of its extremism, but the leftwing equivalent of those views are mainstream.
Clue for you: calling people racists, greedy, misogynistic, Islamophobic, denialists, homophobes, etc is hate. The only reason it isn't seen as extremist nutjob stuff is because it's so completely common. You liberals elected a President who referred to his own grandmother as a "typical white person." You elected a congressman who called white people crackers on the radio. You elected a House minority leader who lamented about men being allowed to rule on abortion cases in court.
The idea that nobody promotes hate and fear better than right wing radio is laughably ridiculous. The left is so good at promoting it that it has become their standard message. The very foundation of social justice is hatred and envy of one segment of society by another segment of society and social justice is the rallying cry of progressives.

The level of your self delusion is absolutely hilarious. It's classic denial.
What is interesting is how liberal talk radio has been tried and failed so many times. Even the liberals won't listen in any substantial numbers.
Apparently there is not much of an audience for leftist propaganda and politically correct talking points. LOL.
The left doesn't need gasbags like Rush Limbaugh to tell us every day what we believe, so we can go forth and spew appropriately for our team. No thinking required to simply "ditto!" everything that is fed to them. Which makes it the perfect vehicle for those who lack the ability to discern for themselves. And thus, you have the proliferation of rightwing radio.
When are we going to do something about all the Nazis and racist that have taken over the AM band of the radio? It is no wonder we are seeing racist attacks and abortion doctors being murdered when you have people on the radio like Hannity, Limbaugh, Savage, Gallager and the like on there all the time spewing hate at certain segments of the country and the President. It is time to start bringing back some balance on the radio by reimposing the Fairness Doctrine.
Just today some racist attacked the Halocaust Museum because he doesn't like the Jews. Immigrants have been attacked, blacks have been attacked, abortion docs killed in church and at home and there is little doubt in my mind that much of this is encouraged by talk radio and its venomous right wing extreme host.
Thanks for the reminder that within every Politically Correct (pseudo-)"progressive" (they no longer have the guts to call themselves "liberals") there lies a closeted Fascist who would harness the power if the state to impose his will on all of us.

The left has elected officials to spew their hate and divisive rhetoric, especially in this administration. Congrats.
