That's 1,000 per state, if they were all spread out evenly, but it looks like CA and TX have the most, and AK has zero.
Wow I did not know there were no racist in places like New York City, Chicago and Los Angles. It's only in those bad, bad places like Texas, CA and AK where those terrible white people live. Shame on you white people!

Yes, but we know where the majority of racists have lived and still do live and it sure isn't up north.

It might be. There isn't a shortage of Northerners making judgments of certain regions of the country without any actual experiences to support those judgments. If they can be prejudiced against a region, they can be prejudiced against a race.

There are plenty of neighborhoods in Northern cities like Philadelphia, Chicago, Detroit, Newark, etc that are off limits to Whites for obvious reasons.
Location: I currently exist only in a state of mind. one too complex for geographic location.

lmao. don't get out much do ya? the biggest racists in the US come from places like PA, and NY. it's not a north vs. south thing, it's an urban vs. rural thing. get a clue.

Its true. When people of all colors and races live together and far outside the ghetto scene, racism is hard to find.
Interesting that I stumbled across this thread. Wednesday night I saw a television show on the National Geographic channel (that premiered sometime this year) that said there were 28,000 members of neo-nazi organizations in the U.S. That doesn't encompass all white supremacist or hate groups, but it's something. I don't remember where the info was quoted from (FBI?) but it was mentioned more than once.
Here's a link to a listing of the episode

Funny that i have never seen a documentary on any hate groups other than white supremacists...why is that?
Well, I'd just like to see WHERE the OP got the 50,000 number. Was that just a "creative" part of the thread title?
I'd also like to have some idea of how stats like the number of members in hate groups are compiled.
If Stormfront has 169,000 members, and they have 6 million posts, that would take a lot of time for 50,000 members of hate groups throughout this country to post. LOL
I think the OP created this thread in an effort to bait people, and very possibly he/she just made up the 50,000 number right out of his/her head. The title of this thread and OP gives the appearance that this thread was put up by a liberal; however, I suspect that is not the case at all.
Also wonder what was the point.
As to the list, Southern Poverty Law Center says:

This list was compiled using hate group publications and websites, citizen and law enforcement reports, field sources and news reports. SPLCenter.org: Hate Groups Map
Don't know about the number unless it is on their site somewhere.
