How does that answer my question?

And sued by who?

Interesting. I just looked at another message board where a few anti-gay posters were saying the exact same thing. This must be one of the talking points for the anti-gay crowd this week.

That makes no sense at all.

If the pageant can't tolerate the views of their spokesperson and fires her, but is forced to hire someone with the same views to prevent a lawsuit, they've gained absolutely nothing.

Read those of her emails that were released - it does look like the problem was miss Prejean's interpretation of contract law. (I'd see he dethroned for her vile abuse of the English language, as well.)

Why am I even interested in this?

Why should ANYONE care about what a beauty pageant winner says about Marriage?
Too much credance is now being given to anyone in the public eye as if they somehow know what they are talking about. Winning a beauty contest may give you an insight into how to wear a bathing suit.

You're right, of course, but go to the "entertainment" forum and see what kinds of violent arguments erupt when someone makes a comment about this idiotic TV show or that one. Throw beauty pageants into the mix, and you see where our civilization is heading...and the signs aren't good.
