If you don't have cable, satellite or a new digital TV set, your TV will be officially KILLED at 1400 hours tomorrow! The gubbermint has ordered your TV be KILLED and signed its death warrant. The gubbermint has granted 2 stays of execution but will issue no more. Time is up. What did your TV want for its last meal?

This forum is a lot more interesting than most of what's on TV. I say let the TVs die a peaceful death.

My TV doesn't die. It is only used to watch DVDs and play videogames on. I can't even change the channel. So it lives!

Didn't you know, watching TV shows is what your computer is for.

I told DirecTV bye-bye a month ago.

I just wish the government put more effort into solving our economic problems as they do worrying that every American can watch TV after tomorrow.

Guess they need to make sure the propaganda machine doesn't go black.

The switch to broadcasting in digital instead of in analog was mandated to free up wireless spectrum so that it could be used for other purposes. Digital signals use up far less spectrum than analog signals. The FCC has already auctioned off the spare spectrum in its 700MHz auction, which raised $19.6 billion for the government.

This auction generated more revenue for the government than any other wireless auction the FCC has ever held. Not a bad tradeoff considering that the government spent a total of about $2 billion to help get people ready for the transition
