They may talk about it less in public now,but law-enforcment and intel officials tell NEWSWEEK they’re quietly scrutinizing threats from the far right just as carefully as those from Islamic extremists.Think Progress » Intel officials ‘scrutinizing threats from the far right just as carefully as those from Islamic extremists.’

Let's all hope that they didn't let the whining of the conservatives stop them from doing their jobs. And perhaps we'll all know better the next time the right goes into its full-out fake outrage mode.

Why the hell would "officials" announce this in the media? Would it not be more prudent to collect this intelligence as if nothing had ever happened at the Holocaust Museum? Is it not reasonable to expect that extremists will now take their communication efforts "under the radar" if they are indeed hell-bent on terrorist activities? Now the domestic terrorists know that they are being listened to. And i'm supposed to think i'm safer because of this? Stupidity to the core. We might as well put up a few billboards.

Yea right, I always thought the only difference between right wing extremist and the Taliban was that little head piece thing...

See? More fake outrage.

Sure, the far-right extremists are trusting souls who never suspect anybody. They would never guess that the government is trying to harm them. They carry out their planning in open meetings at the public library.

Grow up. Nobody said anything that would surprise the far-right extremists.

Progressives are not interested in law-enforcement. They just want to say "right-wing" as many times as possible so their idiots will think Republican (Judging by the comments in that link - it's working)

Think of it as the new-age McCarthyism - I can see the hearings now:

"Are you now, or have you ever had a conservative thought?"

(Given time, and left unchecked, I have little doubt they will also turn violent)
