Based on the track record of the past 5 months?

600k is highly unlikely ... unless of course one might be living in fantasyland.

I think there is a chance that there will be at least 300,000 summer jobs. There are always lots of them for high school and college students to make some money during the summer. Wait a minute, these are only part-time jobs so shouldn't be counted by the administration, but they will be.

Have you noticed how much fun this thread is before any libs check in?

I wonder what all of those little changey-feeley ObamaBots are going to do now?
You're my favorite!

When are the American people going to wake up and realize the politicians in Washington can only screw things up.

Washington does't create or produce anything, all they do is take your dollar, burn half of it away for themselves before they give you fifty cents back.

They can not fix anything!
FDR's policies prolonged Depression by 7 years, UCLA economists calculate

By Meg Sullivan
8/10/2004 12:23:12 PM

Two UCLA economists say they have figured out why the Great Depression dragged on for almost 15 years, and they blame a suspect previously thought to be beyond reproach: President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

After scrutinizing Roosevelt's record for four years, Harold L. Cole and Lee E. Ohanian conclude in a new study that New Deal policies signed into law 71 years ago thwarted economic recovery for seven long years.

"Why the Great Depression lasted so long has always been a great mystery, and because we never really knew the reason, we have always worried whether we would have another 10- to 15-year economic slump," said Ohanian, vice chair of UCLA's Department of Economics. "We found that a relapse isn't likely unless lawmakers gum up a recovery with ill-conceived stimulus policies."

snip

We're in for a bad 15 years.

They should have just let it be.

Have fun agreeing with each other. You do realize that the economy was tanking well before Obama took office, don't you? Here in Colorado since Sept. 11. That was um, almost 8 years ago now. Bush wouldn't tell you, Biden will.

Biden Says 'Everyone Guessed Wrong' on Unemployment Numbers - Political News - FOXNews.com

I wonder if this is the only thing that they will "guess wrong"? Probably not!

"No one realized how bad the economy was. The projections, in fact, turned out to be worse. But we took the mainstream model as to what we thought -- and everyone else thought -- the unemployment rate would be," Biden said.

HUH? I think everyone KNEW how bad it was and still is. And if these idiots continue to make any more "guesses", we are totally screwed!
Actually they guessed that there was going to be a higher rate than the figures showed, so much for that arguement, they can over guess anytime they want. While we are at it, what difference does it make if they guess this figure or that, they are not the ones in control of who gets let go that is up to businesses. I might also remind you that our last President guessed wrong big time on Iraq and we ended up in a war we are still not rid of and it still costing us dearly in lives and money. So, next time you want to whine about this administration making a minor error such as the unemployement figures remember what your guy did with his guesses, the current ones pale in comparison.

Biden is the one who said it this morning. I'm not blaming the economy on Bush; I'm just sayin'. It's been going down the tubes for a long time, and these economists have been around a long time. They didn't just come up with the wrong numbers last night.
