I guess I'm one of those people you are talking about because I, 100%, feel that English should remain the language of America.
Right & if you saw my post before, I never said it should change. I'm curious as to why people have to reiterate that english is the language of america, no one is suggesting it change to spanish.
I was required to take a foreign language in high school. I did NOT chose Spanish... I chose something I *wanted* to learn, rather than tailor my life around lazy illegals who wear down our country.
That's interesting because the majority of people I've spoken to who actually have been around hispanics, not just generalize them, say they're some of the most hardest working people they know. But you know, by all means go ahead & call them lazy when you've probably never even encountered them.

I guess I didn't see your previous post, just the one I quoted you from seemed as though that was what you were saying....my bad...carry on!

I grew up in Los Angeles, surrounded by Mexicans... how is that not qualified?
How's your kid doing with reading chinese
because he has to learn about 5000 characters to be able to read a newspaper.
Kids in China have the same dilemma. That's no reason to not study the language here in America.

In Spanish, you just have to learn how to say a, e, i, o, u, h, j, ñ, after that, you can read almost anything.
True. But that doesn't mean you'll understand it. I taught myself Cyrillic in a week, but that didn't mean I could read Pravda or Novoe Russkiy Slovo and know what was contained in the stories.

Great, I'm pretty surrounded by mexicans as well, I live near the south side of Milwaukee. Just seeing them however doesn't qualify me to say that they're all lazy. Sure, some are just like some whites are, some chinese are, etc. etc. etc.
Our education system sucks because of low expectations and catering to the slowest and least intelligent kids. Why not try to progress and actually cater to the smarter kids? Plus, what do you have to say about the increased brain development?
It's a proven fact. (http://www.abc.net.au/science/news/stories/s720173.htm - broken link) It has to begin early. It doesn't matter which language it is, but Americans are one of the most ignorant and ethnocentric people in the Western world.
The only point you've made is one of a closed minded person who chooses a condoscending tone instead of one of an adult discussion.
If you've read any of my posts, i've stated that the broken school system NEED to be fixed before requiring foreign language as a mandatory subject. If these school aged children are having difficulty in soaking in the basic subjects, how are they going to excel in a foreign language. Basic skills has to start at an early age....Thats a proven fact...
