Washington, D.C. (AHN) - Responding to President Barack Obama's tough rhetoric after meeting with South Korean President Lee Myung-bak, nuclear-armed North Korea on Wednesday warned of a "thousand-fold retaliation" against the United States.

"If the US and its followers infringe upon our republic's sovereignty even a bit, our military and people will launch a one hundred- or one thousand-fold retaliation with merciless military strike," the state-run Minju Joson newspaper said in a commentary published by the official Korean Central News Agency.

USA has a check on China - they own our debt; war with us would cancel any future repayment.

China is not going to aid North Korea in a military strike against the US. For one thing, we owe China a bunch of money, for another the Chinese government is not that stupid.

Reminds me of the grandiose threats that Saddam was famous for. In the end he met his end. N. Korea is a dog who's bark is bigger than its bite. They are delusional.

Oh, I'm sure they think they're using North Korea for something, although I personally can't see what possible benefit China gets from continuing to prop up that antagonistic little toad Ill and his puppet government. Seriously, does North Korea have ANY allies other than China?

Didn't China and Russia condemn this rhetoric and call for diplomacy?

Man, this could get scary. That would be a battle royale between the East and the West, and I'm not sure we'd pull out the V with all the industrial might over there now. Another reason why it's good to support one's industrial base.

Let's hope all us fat Americans buying all their crap is enough for the Chinese to see a greater benefit in keeping us all fat and happy.
