"I'm anxious to take on those people who oppose a public option," he said. He'll have public opinion on his side. A recent poll showed 3 out of 4 people want a public plan as part of health care reform. "We've got the momentum."

Everyone wants healthcare reform, that's like asking if people want peace on earth....But not this plan. Costs are comming out - a trillion dollars in 10 years and that will only cover a small percentage of the uninsured.
Healthcare reform is dead in the water, and the moderate democrats themselves will be the opponents, unless major changes are made.
I've pretty much gave up on this "reform" and change. Our representatives in Congress [the majority of them] don't care about us as long as they have their lifetime of AWESOME health care for them, their ex-spouses, their children, etc.
I will hope more people will try to get more done on the state level.

You're right that we'll never get their plan. That said, we can not give up in our opposition to a public plan and or Government takeover of the Healthcare system. Support for such a plan is collapsing fast, but people who oppose it must continue to do so vocally.
Did you happen to read your own link? Kind of a misleading title. Just posturing nothing I feel to be alarmed about. After all, this will be a historic piece of legislation. As much as Obama wants it to be Bi-Partisan there is talk about not needing all 60 votes to pass if the GOP wants to play the usual Obstructionist Party, Party of no ideas. They could just use 50 votes to get it through. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out by this Fall.
