PARIS, France (CNN) -- Air France will pay families about €17,500 ($24,500) in initial compensation for each victim of the crash of Flight 447 this month, the company's chief executive says.
Money does not make up for dead parents. However, I do not blame the airline or anyone else. When traveling at 700MPH at 37000 feet, accidents are bound to happen. I've never had a better experience than Air France, nor do I blame them. Hopefully this 24k can help bury and remember the losses, however I still feel as though Air France isn't culpable. The inherent danger of flying is simply the trade off you take when choosing to fly. If its under 600 miles, I'll drive any day for this very reason. Spare me the statistics, if I'm driving at least I'm in charge of my own fate and not 37k above the earth. If I were religious, I'd pray... unfortunately im too cynical for that. I hope the families survivors are ok...

I concur.
