Time Magazine is firmly on the Left. They are noticing as well all of obama's broken promises.

No comment about the link?????
The lefties don't read the articles that criticize obama in any way. They would have to come up with all kinds of contortions and lame excuses to justify their continued support.

No one cares if you're disgruntled - so throw hissy-fits to your pathetic heart's content!!!
I know it is impossible to defend Obama but you could have at least tried. ROFLMOA!!!

I am so glad it is not me trying to defend the ambassador of Hope and Change. Right about now his sheep are desperately hoping he will someday change!!!!

It is so funny to see these sheep with no defense for their empty suit!!!

Obama Closes Doors on Openness

As a senator, Barack Obama denounced the Bush administration for holding "secret energy meetings" with oil executives at the White House. But last week public-interest groups were dismayed when his own administration rejected a Freedom of Information Act request for Secret Service logs showing the identities of coal executives who had visited the White House to discuss Obama's "clean coal" policies.

Since Obama pledged on his first day in office to usher in a "new era" of openness, "nothing has changed," says David -Sobel, a lawyer who litigates FOIA cases. "For a president who said he was going to bring unprecedented transparency to government, you would certainly expect more than the recycling of old Bush secrecy policies."

The hard line appears to be no accident. After Obama's much-publicized Jan. 21 "transparency" memo, administration lawyers crafted a key directive implementing the new policy that contained a major loophole, according to FOIA experts.

He is probably using "Exemption 4" which he loudly criticized Bush for using when Bush held talks with executives in the private energy sector.

Here is what 0bama put on his campaign web site on January 26, 2006:

Quote:
But this has to be a serious bill, and it has to go a long way toward correcting some of the most egregious offenses of the last few years. This is not a time for window-dressing or putting a band-aid on a problem just to score political points. This is a time for real reform, and I think the Democrats' Honest Leadership and Open Government Act does this by including provisions that so far the Republican proposals do not.

Real reform means making sure that Members of Congress and the Administration tell us when they're negotiating for jobs with industries they're responsible for regulating. That way we don't have people writing a drug bill during the day and meeting with pharmaceutical companies about their future salary at night.

Real reform means giving the public access to now-secret conference committee meetings and posting all bills on the Internet 24 hours before they're voted on, so the public can scrutinize what's in them.

Here is what 0bama said in January 21, 2009:

Quote:
The Freedom of Information Act should be administered with a clear presumption: In the face of doubt, openness prevails. The Government should not keep information confidential merely because public officials might be embarrassed by disclosure, because errors and failures might be revealed, or because of speculative or abstract fears. Nondisclosure should never be based on an effort to protect the personal interests of Government officials at the expense of those they are supposed to serve. In responding to requests under the FOIA, executive branch agencies (agencies) should act promptly and in a spirit of cooperation, recognizing that such agencies are servants of the public.
President Obama's Memo on Freedom of Information Act | FOIA |

Back in January of this year, U.S. District Judge Royce C. Lamberth rejected the Bush administration's attempt to keep secret the identities of White House visitors. The judge ruled against the argument that revealing Secret Service logs would impede the president's ability to perform his constitutional duties. I wonder if she would rule the same for 0bama today

Does 0bama believe in anything he said before? Makes you wonder what else 0bama attacked as corrupt, unjust, illegal or harmful to the country, that he now adopts for himself today.

The fact of the matter is that Obama promised he would change things EXACTLY like this. But instead of living up to his words, he has lied and is only accelerating the illegal agenda George Bush initiated..

It's pretty sad that you are willing to overlook deceit and accept the same illegal actions which you condemned from Bush simply because "your guy" is the one doing it now.

Think about when "your guy" is gone... Do you still want the POTUS having all of this power? Will you still blindly support the government when it's a "repuglican" in power?

Thank for illustrating what it looks like when blind loyalty and ignorance join forces...
Blind sheep on both sides of the aisle. We are doomed! It is too bad we don't have more people that question these corrupt politicians. Instead they just follow the leader right off the cliff. Good post!

You clearly do not get it.

0bama has been showing himself to be a complete and utter fraud. Someone who is so genuinely dishonest as a president should be of concern, not matter your party loyalties. And all 0bama's actions do is provide you a reason to do the Snoopy Dance? Metaphorically speaking of course.

0bama charges the Bush administration for enacting policies and committing actions that are unethical, illegal, and secretive, and then 0bama turns around and co-ops those exact same methods, actions and policies for himself.

So tell me, how can we believe anything 0bama says, when he can so casually turn a complete 180 without shame? The answer is that we cannot trust anything the man says.

We cannot trust the policies 0bama states he will abide by, because he has changed his mind on so many of them.

We cannot trust the predicted outcome of his policies, such as the 8% unemployment he claimed for passing his stimulus, because his people are flat out guessing, as Biden has already stated.

We definitely should not trust his administration's prediction on a trillion dollar health care plan, since 0bama has no record of success nor accurately predicting anything in the past.

Unless it pertains to the Democrats!
