The title pretty much says it all. I would say yes, and I think it is a good. If we can help lead to the overthrow of the Ayatolah, that is a good thing. We made a mistake in 1955, but helping a religious fanatic get into office, now we can help right wrongs and get a more secular government in.

Anyway, please answer the poll question.

I doubt it.

Iranians can handle themselves and they don't need Americans usurping their cause.

I voted for 'no, and they shouldn't'. The US would hate people spying on them. Does the US want to provoke war? To me it seems it does.

More than likely the CIA has people there. What they are doing, how much influence they have etc. is a mystery and whether it is a good or bad thing is a value judgement that cannot be made without more information if it can be make at all.

I rep'd you, good point. I mean, the CIA is so huge, is there really any doubt that they aren't pretty much everywhere.

And someone mentioned that we wouldn't appreciate being spied on. That is true, but it certainly does happen. Even if it didn't I still think that America needs to continue it's clandestine operations. They are vital to our security.

Yes, and it's a bad thing. Why I wonder well..

While Obama did the right thing by stating he would refrain from being seen as meddling in the internal affairs of Iran, congress tells a different tale. Recently they voted to spend $120 million of taxpayer money on anti-regime media broadcasts into Iran from bases in Iraq and Kuwait, and have spent another $60- $75 million on funding opposition forces including Marxist rebels and Kurds, and Azeris under the "Iran Democracy Program." Pakistani state tv has reported that the U.S has spent over $400 million on Iranian black operations.

A lot of 'twitter' news suggests there are spontaneous demonstrations occurring, in which the Iranian government has not helped matters by limiting foreign press coverage and using excessive brutality against protesters; but beware the MSM talking heads who will interview Iranian exiles as "experts", without questioning their motives and axes to grind.
Recall the Iraqi exiles who were willing to get paid large fees as "experts' and were willing to tell the American public whatever they wanted to hear.

It should be noted that a danger we face with this recent call for a recount is it spreads the message to other mideast dictatorships that democracy is dangerous and must be avoided.

As much as Americans may hate Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, he is popular among the rustic "Koran country bumpkins", Iran's answer to the Bible belt. He is also supported by Iran's farmers, pensioners, the military communities as well. Many pre-election polls portrayed Ahmadinejad commanding a huge lead in the days before the election.

McCain supporters who would like to throw their alliance with Mir Hossien Mousavi should note that Muhsavi equally supports Iran's nuclear program, and could be described as just another Iranian conservative who has attempted to gain support with young voters by criticizing certain obscurantist policies imposed by the religious establishment, however much of his criticism has been shared by fellow Muslims as a misinterpretation of the Koran's passages.

The wonderful irony is that in Israel members of the Knesset and Mossad such as Meir Dagan have thrown their support behind Ahmadinejad because of fears that without Ahmadinejad, international pressure on Iran to end its nuclear program will wane. Dagan is correct.
