I must say that this article was written two weeks ago about what happened on TV the day before but things have changed a bunch since that day. The CBO has been called a bunch of liars by Chris Dodd for saying the program he supports will cost $1.6 trillion dollars and anything else they say that doesn't agree with the ideas of Dodd. Maybe Dodd needs to get Fannie and Freddie to study the whole thing and give out some good words.

Senior White House Adviser David Axelrod said on CBS’s “Face the Nation” yesterday that President Obama intends to promote a health-care reform plan that will include creating a government-owned health-care company and predicted that Congress will enact such a plan by the end of the summer.

Axelrod said that a government-owned health-care company would “give consumers a better deal."

It did seem like they were going to pass the Kennedy bill until the CBO came up with their figures about the cost of that plan. Now the Dems are having a lot of trouble getting enough of their own people to back those things to get anywhere with them. It had to happen sooner or later.

Nothing will happen. This will share the same fate as Hilary's plan. Government can only provide failure, and the best they could do would be to require people to buy health coverage from the current failing system.
