I was a computer enthusiast - still am - and a computer educator back in '83 when the Mac was introduced. I don't agree with you that the Mac was considered "a huge innovation immediately upon its creation by any computer enthusiast."
Again, I will reiterate, there are unrecognized young people doing wonderful things today that in 30 years will be considered revolutionary.
If it takes 30 years to be considered revolutionary, to me at least it is a rather weak invention. It didn't take 30 years for people to look at the moon landing in awe, or the invention of the pill.
WHY do you insist on dragging Obama into every post that you submit to this message board???
Why is every thread I read on about Obama. I really think that may have something to do with it. Why would you ask such a question? Bush has been out of office even longer than Obama has been and so I don't want to talk about him.
Most college freshmen are 18 and that is old enough to get a ballot. I'll bet he had been instructed in high school about voting. Maybe even who to vote for.
Do you suppose that back in the early 80s there was some old fart some where complaining about the "youth of today" not "inventing anything notable" while at the same time Bill Gates, Steve Wozniak, Steve Jobs - all the youth of that day - were inventing the little machine that changed the world??
Do you not see that complaining about young people is a sure sign that you are an old people??
But ray you are one of those old people and are standing up for the present younger generation. They don't do that for you and your generation since they consider you stupid unless you agree with them on everything. I guess that makes me agree with you because of age and I don't agree with you on too many things as far as politics are concerned.
Wasn't it the Obama voters saying they were the younger voters and therefore they were voting for Obama? I remember something being said about the Republican party being called the old gray haired party, does that ring a bell to you?
You just rung my bell with that question. It is fun to be old as hell and still able to see those "kids" think they are smarter than I am.
Yes he is, he qualifies for membership in AARP. Anyone over 50 is in the older generation, duh!
I have been in the AARP over 20 years but decided today that I won't be renewing my membership since their CEO made a speech in which he told the President that the group agrees with his need for national health care and I can't be a member of a group like that. About 2 more months and they get no more of my money as membership dues. I am 76 so I couldn't be paying them much longer, anyway.
Now that was just stupid. Please try to bring something else to the conversation would ya
I can't do that since I am not a liberal thinker. Anything I say will be nothing to you other than anti-lib which is what I surely am.
