Who says the emails are coming from "conservative critics"? Fox News has a huge audience, a lot more eople watch it then just conservatives, and I'm sure some are over emotional, or fringe kooks.. I can pretend I am a rabid left-winger and start a terrible email campaign against anchors on MSNBC or ABC.
People who send venomous emails to TV anchors are fringe, and should just be ignored.
Shep Smith seems to walk a more middle road than what Fox is famous for. "Fair and Balanced' no? My personal favorite commentator on Fox is Megyn Kelly, but I've never had any heartburn with Shepard Smith either. If people are sending him death threats for his commentary, those people need to take a step back. That's plain ignorant.
Please remember a verbal and/or written threat of bodily or financial harm is legally considered an assault and not protected speech under the First Amendment. Maybe Mr. Smith should call the FBI and press assault charges on these callers. I would.
Word of advice: NEVER consider a threat to not be meant as a threat.

yea, yea, it's the evil republicans, right wing nut cases, 'neocons' etc. Maybe. But this 'left ' and 'right' business is getting out of control. I've never seen such a rift between Americans as is going on now. The 'left' has had it's share of stupid actions of this same type. A small number of major wackos on either side are being to much credit for speaking for all.
