What historic event would that be?

Anyways, I do agree with Obama's approach so far.
The 10th re-posturing .... in what is normally repeated as not enough time to have done anything. I disagree, he's changed his mind more in the last 6 months than through all of the 2 1/2 year campaign.

The other million people dropped out once the outside world was shut out and snipers started picking people off. Ask some former soviet comrades, that's the best way to silence dissent.

And there was nothing wrong with us saying from the get-go that we stand with the Iranian people of which who their government should be representative of.

Absolute nonsense. I'm sure he's known all along that the American opinion of the Iranian government is not exactly a positive one. The majority of Americans--as well as experts on Iran--think he's handled the timing and content of his comments perfectly.

In any case, it doesn't matter what Obama says or does or when. This thread, as well as others on the same topic, show very clearly that the right wing will find a way to demonize Obama, regardless of the situation. It's ridiculous, and completely transparent to the majority of Americans, and is driving the Republican party further and further to the margins.

There was plenty "wrong with us saying from the get-go." Every Iranian expert counselled that Obama should lay low for the first few days, in order not to give the Iranian government a reason to blame the U.S. for the uprising. Because he did so, the Iranian government is now blaming the U.K., who did speak up "from the get-go." While that's not exactly great for the U.K., the result is that it positions the American government with the political upper hand. And the Iranian people know very well that Obama and the American people support them.

No he was saving, at almost all cost, the ability to talk without pre-conditions. The entire rest of the world that was paying attention got it before he was willing to let go of his ideology. Another very clear glimpse inside of the mind of a narcissist. Even people in his own cabinet, with much more experience, were like ...

The government should represent it's people especially in elections. 2 hours and 80 million votes counted showed the world, except for some ridiculous ideologues.

I'm not disagreeing with that. How's this related to Obama's response?
