I agree. I don't know that there's any legal recourse in SC for this type of behavior. HOWEVER, it does illustrate irresponsible behavior. I'd imagine this guy will have a difficult time getting reelected, especially if additional examples of irresponsible behavior can be cited and used against him in a campaign.
Considering even his own party doesn't support him -- they've overturned 10 of his vetoes! -- I'd say his political career is pretty much over.
Report: SC gov was in Argentina, not hiking trail - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090624/ap_on_re_us/us_sc_governor_where - broken link)
"Sanford told The State he was alone on the trip to Argentina. He declined to give any additional details about what he did other than to say he drove along the coastline.
Trying to make such a drive could frustrate a weekend visitor to Argentina. In Buenos Aires, the Avenida Costanera is the only coastal road, and it's less than two miles long. Reaching coastal resorts to the south requires a drive of nearly four hours on an inland highway with views of endless cattle ranches. To the north is a river delta of islands reached only by boat."
Maybe he is really on a secret mission for the CIA? But I think maybe they should check out the extradition laws with Argentina and then check out the treasury of S.C.
Governor Palin is pissed at this guy because she's not being talked about. LOL.
