South Carolina Governor Hiking Appalachian Trail, Didn't Vanish - Political News - FOXNews.com (http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/06/22/south-carolina-governor-disappears-fazed/ - broken link)
Quote:
COLUMBIA, S.C. -- A spokesman for South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford says the chief executive is hiking the Appalachian Trail, which explains his perplexing absence.
I guess that's so private he can't leave a post-it note on the fridge for his wife. ( do they even talk? )
Bizarre.
"Look! Look! Say he's...he's someplace remote, where nobody can get to him...but someplace good, someplace irreproachable...uh..." "How about the Appalachian Trail?!" "Yeah! The Appalachian Trail!"
I like the South Carolina Governor. Would you rather he be out drinking or running around with people who don't pay their taxes. Maybe he is thinking over his decision to run for President in 2012. The trail is a healthy, mind clearing experience. More people ought to do it.

Maybe he should have checked in with his kids, you know, it being Father's Day weekend and all.

He's thinking the whole time...
"Kids?
I have Kids?...
To hell with that, there's a trail that needs to be blazed!"
