Democrats trying to limit debate on a bill NO ONE HAS READ;

http://michellemalkin.com/2009/06/26...al-energy-tax/

What's they hurry?

Try and get as much devastation rammed down our throats before the majority of the country turns against his tax and spend socialism.

Call your SENATORS - this bill will live or die in the senate.
Thanks for that link. Most of it is "change page 46, section(8), "the" to "it" type of edits but the new additions of complete paragraphs is very interesting.

Here's some bits and pieces in that pdf for those that don't plan to read it..maybe you should:

-energy efficient housing. Low cost and government housing owners will get subsidies in order to keep the rents low.
-if your home gets damage and needs to be rebuilt (hurricane/tornado/etc) it has to be energy efficient as defined by this bill
(could be restricted to mortgage type..FHA vs Conventional..not clear enough)
-fleet cars (they really don't define this well) need to be fitted or retro-fitted with alternative fuel engines or addons
-Solar installation requires government permits: $500 residential, $10,000 commercial.
-prohibit HOA's from letting you put solar panels on your roof
-incentives for water efficient products
-clean energy manufacturing - grant program for 500 person or less mfg facility - total grants limited to $500 milliion per year - states have to chip in on loan..minimum 20% of state funds - lol..if they relocate out of US they have to pay back loan - also has salary requirements on the mft for laborers hired
-money to change consumer behavior
-new HUD construction must use "green building"
-a new market for energy-efficient mortgages for very low, low income families (yes they used "low" twice..this one's a doozie though..the person's income will be credited $1 for each $1 spent in energy efficiency for loan qualification purposes.
-special consideration for Indian and Hawaiian borrowers

I stopped on page 120
Also sprinkled with new oversight committees, subsidies for low cost government housing to comply, assistance for the elderly to comply but none for regular Joe.

Gives you an idea of how this will be implemented.

You would be stupid to start a new manufacturing biz here in the USA now.

All this bill is, is totalitarianism/communism at it's finest and it will be the end of the USA as a great country and the free market. The government will own every transaction in this country now via a tax of course which it can control. Prices on all goods and services will increase dramatically while due to all our government debt and printing of money our earning power will be less.

I think it's time to start looking at how to escape America if we can't get a lot of this radical legislation stopped.
Bingo, they all flee offshore, where there are no environmental protection laws at all, making the results of this bill far worse than if they had done nothing. More pollution and environmental destruction, less jobs and poorer economy at home...

You know the "consensus" of global climate changers says that if we stopped CO2 production completely meaning we even stop breathing it will not reverse for almost 100 years. That is of course if it's a human born problem. We couldn't make enough CO2 condensers before we will all die, at least according to "them."

Well if he'll just throw an inconceivable tax on off shoring that will solve it.

I guess looking out for the "working class" only pertains to wealth redistribution. It doesn't matter if they now struggle to pay power bills and for the cost of goods that will increase.

Do democrats not know this is going to hurt their voting block?

I totally agree with this
the government has no right to force americans to increase their expenses during hard economic times.

Here I am doing all I can to keep my elec bill down and their acts are going to cause it to go up.

The hurry is to get it approved before anyone realizes how bad it is. Just like the stimulus bill that didn't do what it was supposed to.

You know how the GOP is labeled ridiculous for trying to solve almost all problems with lower taxes. Apparently the polar opposite is in office now.

Quote:
[G]overnment's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
I wonder what era that came from and what the prosperity was like back then?
