Where do you think the manufacturers will go when their utility bills shoot through the roof eating into their profits ?

More manufacturers leaving the country and going overseas. We produce NOTHING as is. What is this country coming to?? I keep saying, someone has to see what is going on and step in!! Our hope now is with "Blue Dog" Democrats......God help us!!! The scary thing is this minor leaguer that we call a President actually believes in ALL the garbage he spews. Either he is intentionally attempting to bankrupt this country or he wants governement dependence on EVERYTHING so we can't do the littlest thing form birth to death without government intervention!!!

Nobody taxed making over 250K that is a joke- this government grab will affect everybody. This bill would cost every individual taxpayer an average of $1800 to $2500 in increased energy costs. Transparency from Obama forget about it he is trying to ram this bill thru Congress with Pelosi's help before anybody truly understands what this bill is about. This will stifle our economy. Remember Obama believes the USA is great because of government not its citizens.
We did one better and today had rallies in front of the offices of our Congressmen who, even up to last night, stated they had not yet decided which way they were going to vote.

Others flooded their offices with phone calls.

What a coincidence - late today they both announced they were voting no to Cap & Trade.

Sadly, there is suspicion they decided to announce they were voting "no" (and to vote "no") to please their constituents BUT that they figure there are enough votes to pass the Cap & Trade bill so their "no" votes won't really keep the bill from passing. It will just keep those who elected them from booting them out on their ears in the next election. Don't think they would have had enough guts to go against Pelosi and the other Dems if their votes would really change the outcome.

Awww, maybe enough other states put enough pressure on their reps.

This is a flip-flop from their earlier estimates plus check out what is omitted from this $175 figure (info is found in the same CBO report):

Quote:
The analysis does not include the effects of other aspects of the bill, such as federal efforts to speed the development of new technologies and to increase energy efficiency by specifying standards or subsidizing energy-saving investments. http://cboblog.cbo.gov/?cat=7

and

Quote:
those effects are described in the context of the current economy—that is, the costs that would result if the policies set for 2020 were in effect in 2010. http://cboblog.cbo.gov/?cat=7

and
Quote:
Most of those free allocations would be phased out over time, and by 2035, roughly 70 percent of the allowances would be sold by the federal government, with a large share of revenues returned to households on a per capita basis. http://cboblog.cbo.gov/?cat=7

There are a lot of "if's" which may not affect the cost to taxpayers ......
If the Feds actions do NOT increase costs to us via Fed
efforts to speed the development of new tech
If the Feds actions do NOT increase costs to us via the
cost of higher standards
If the Feds actions do NOT increase costs to us via
subsidies
If the Feds return a large share of revenue to the public

Today's Wall Street Journal says of the Cap & Trade bill.........
........ is likely to be the biggest tax in American history.

Great article, well worth reading. Also explains what the latest CBO report did not include in coming up with their latest figure:

Tell your Congressmen to say NO to Waxman-Markey unless you want to be paying through the nose. You are going to get hit with your electric bill and you are going to have business costs passed down to you.

ATR Will Double Rate Cap-and-Trade Vote in Annual Scorecard

"During the brief few days in which the bill was debated in the House Energy Committee, Republicans offered three amendments: one to suspend the program if gas hit $5 a gallon; one to suspend the program if electricity prices rose 10% over 2009; and one to suspend the program if unemployment rates hit 15%. Democrats defeated all of them." See story:

Nevermind tax, no regulations, no EPA, no oversight and inspection.

The Whole idea of man made caused Global warming would be considered laughable years ago. Even today ask someone if man can use weather control they will think your crazy. Yet ask someone about Cap and Trade, Oh yeah we can stop global warming....give me a break.

It is warming up on Mars too...I guess we caused that too.
