THERE IS A CORRELATION BETWEEN THE HORRIBLE AMERICAN DIET AND THE FACT THAT THE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM IS INADEQUATE.
You think its possible to just drop everything and bring back 150,000 troops and equipment in no time...we are already pulling out of Iraq, like Obama said he would do.
We arent pulling out of Iraq. He plans to leave a certain troops level in Iraq. For some reason combat troops is the only troops that matters to many. The combat troop pull out is even later then he promised.
Any excuse. What are you going to say when Obamas 4 years are up and there is some troops still in iraq?
And what about those who really are ill and need medical care often? What kind of incentive is this for the employer-employee relationship? Could it have unintended consequences such as "fire the sick employee" such as what we have now somewhat in place with really, truly sick employees and or their family members?
I know of 4 people off hand that have been unceremoniously fired because of their medical bill. For one, this happened 6 times in the past 15 years. At first she thought it was coincidence that she got fired about 6-8 weeks after the benefits were redone and new charges were added.... after the 3rd time she realized it couldn't be coincidence.
I have an expensive genetic disorder and am in constant fear of being fired for it. Of course, there is no way to prove it so I have to suck it up and move on. It's unfortunate that I get to be punished throughout my entire life for something I was born with.

Though I think you should have said it better, I agree.
I would rather insurance companies raise premiums on people who are unhealthy rather than everyone in the pool.
Doctors should try to work harder to get patients healthier and if patients don't follow through, they will suffer financial consequences.
Everyone would get a physical every year, they would get a "To Do List" and in six months time, if they achieve most or all of it, they're good. If they don't, their premiums will jump.

You have good reason to be paranoid. My wife was canned after 15 years from the world's largest American defense contractor for being sick. And this may be a stretch for many to believe but my wife predicted her demise 2 years before it happened. How was this so? She worked for their benefits department at their corporate headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland and saw first hand how it would be done because she seen many others get the boot the same way. The company is so large various health insurance agencies have full time representatives work full time at their headquarters. Now, connect the dots!
Not really, if you take a look at the numbers that Obama wants to generate to support the funding of national healthcare, you can't just do it by taxing the "excessively high" employer healthcare benefits. The numbers just aren't there, you need to tax much of the total employer provided healthcare contribution.
