While Ahmadinejad is clearly absurdly twisting Obama's words to serve his own political and repressive objectives, his statement can be viewed as actually justifiable. Not in terms of action or rhetoric coming from the administration, though, which has been broadly and in a bipartisan fashion praised (http://www.nsnetwork.org/node/1345 - broken link)by Iran experts, members of Congress from both parties, former Secretaries of State and National Security Advisers as well as conservative commentators, Peggy Noonan, Pat Buchanan, and George Will, but in terms of Congress, which remains for the most part largely myopic (http://www.cqpolitics.com/wmspage.cfm?parm1=5&docID=news-000003150662 - broken link) and oppositional to the administration in its approach to Iran. It's almost as if they are continually and proactively playing right into Ahmadinejad's hands:

Apparently this portion of Blickstein's article went overlooked as well. Obama has handled this more than wisely, and Hillary is keeping a low profile and working hard to help the Iranian protesters oust Ahmadinejad
without our overt help; 1953 is well-remembered in the Middle East. As to
comprehending that Obama has risen to the challenge, there are none so
blind as those who will not see.

There are none so blind who do not agree with me?

Unbelievable. What kind of public representative works to undercut a President's foreign policy--in this case, in direct opposition to what every Iranian expert says? I guess the Republicans in Congress are so hell-bent on destroying the Obama presidency, they really don't care that they sacrifice the Iranian people in the process.
I do not understand why you say it is the republicans. From the article.

"Well, the amendment passed in committee and now is attached to the must pass foreign operations appropriations bill. "
The committee is controlled by the democrats. It could not pass the committee if the democrats did not want it to. You realize the democrats control the committee?

The Iranians downgraded their relationship with Britain based on their comments. Is it better to have no one in the country to see what's really going on just to tip at windmills?

Where was the outrage when the Dem's did that to Bush, in regards to Turkey.

No, none so blind as those who, having no expertise in the area, insist on
disagreeing with professionals and even well-informed conservative journalists. Those whose world view is so skewed by partisan politics that
they will not accept the judgments made by people far more qualified than they.

What part of this quote is so difficult to process? Continued opposition to
diplomatic strategies that are working is "...continually and proactively
playing right into Ahmadinejad's hands..."
The entire free world supports the Iranian dissidents and pray that they will be successful in bringing democracy, liberty and equality to their country. Join them.
