Exactly. "Bruno" is for heterosexual audiences, not for gay audiences. You feed the caricatures and stereotypes, and the ignorant masses come running to laugh at the gays.
Humor and laughter are forms of acceptance. Someone who is truly anti-gay isn't going to see this movie.
You can add to that list:
anti-republican
anti-religious (christianity)
anti-guns
anti-abortion
anti-Palin
anti-Obama
Yeah, I guess people have various reasons for ranting about any given topic. With Palin, I admit that I enjoy making fun of her and the drama that constantly surrounds her life. With certain factions of the Republican Party (mostly the anti-libertarian Republicans), I admit I do feel threatened by them, and so that's why I rant about them sometimes.
Really? Gay people should get offended by the same guy who made Borat? He plays an obnoxious straight guy in that movie. Were straight people offended?
I know the people of Kazakhstan were and the people of Austria are this time around. But anyone else should just see the humor in it.

Reason: He does play an obnoxious straight guy. No question mark needed.

Straight people aren't a minority, so why would it affect their sensibilities?

That's really not a great comparison because Borat wasn't a lampoon of heterosexuality.
That's not a great comparison, really. I'm on the side of freedom and don't believe in censoring the movie, but it's pretty clear that homosexuals are a disfavored minority in American society.
That doesn't make heterosexuals any less likely to be offended. Stereotypes don't just affect minorities. If you name any one type of person I'm sure I could think of a stereotype against them.
Heterosexual men - they'll sleep with anyone/thing.
Heterosexual women - they play mindgames.
Now those two things aren't true about all heterosexual men and women and some may even be offended if you pose such things as truth. However, there are many movies based on just those two stereotypes.

Bruno isn't only a lampoon of homosexuality; it's also of people in the fashion world. Are they offended? Should they be offended?
