Adam Blickstein: Congressional Attempts to Undermine People of Iran, Obama Continue Unabated

Unbelievable. What kind of public representative works to undercut a President's foreign policy--in this case, in direct opposition to what every Iranian expert says? I guess the Republicans in Congress are so hell-bent on destroying the Obama presidency, they really don't care that they sacrifice the Iranian people in the process.

You might want to read an article before you comment on it.

I did perhaps you would like to.

"A Republican effort on Tuesday to cut off U.S. loans to some companies doing business with Iran will bring Congress deeper into the fray over the U.S. response to the Iranian elections."

So it passed committee. Are there no democrats on that committee ?
And the US is in bed with Israel; that article implies that there may have been influence from them. And it was aimed at an Indian company ?

What fools..all the ones on that committee. It should have never even made it to a piece of paper.

These guys in Washington can't even work together...at each others throat at every turn.

As I understand it, the bill was introduced by a Republican House member.

Liberals in congress did the exact same thing under Bush and often hurt our growth with their pettiness.

I vote for my representative to be my voice and I want them to force Obama to make the correct decision and not sit on his arse and do nothing.

He literally screwed up Iran and left a massive opportunity to spread freedom in the middle east go to waste.

Rep should be all over him, it is their job, it is what I PAY THEM TO DO.

Its called checks and balances within the system so NO ONE PERSON ( Meaning Obama ) has total control of everything.

Remember something, most of those rep congress members have experience in making decisions and Obama has ZERO decision making abilities for this circumstance. And it has shown.

As usual, utter garbage.

Gee, look what Iran can do all by themselves without U.S. interference. . .

Reliable sources in Iran are suggesting that a possible compromise to put an end to the violent uprising that has rocked Iran for the past two weeks may be in the works. I have previously reported that the second most powerful man in Iran, Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani, the head of the Assembly of Experts (the body with the power to choose and dismiss the supreme leader) is in the city of Qom—the country’s religious center—trying to rally enough votes from his fellow assembly members to remove the current supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei from power. News out of Iran suggests that he may be succeeding. At the very least, it seems he may have gained enough support from the clerical establishment to force a compromise from Khamenei, one that would entail a runoff election between Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his main reformist rival Mir Hossein Mousavi.

A Deal to Save Iran? - The Daily Beast
Anything less than them solving their own internal election problems would be absolutely disastrous for the U.S., and probably the rest of the world. President Obama is exactly right and you are exactly wrong.
