For anyone who hasn't seen the news this morning: go to the Virginia thread here on this horrible, tragic story...my heart is just sick at this. I feel blessed to live where I do at times, though in my head I know that tragedy can strike anywhere. My deepest sympathies to residents of Virginia and anyone who may have known a victim.
I completely agree with you. The last that I heard, the total of fatalities is now up to 31 or 32....You send your child to college so they can provide for themselves, to get them away from things like this, and then THIS happens...
The death toll is up to 31 now. This is terrible!!!! Why do people do this??!!
Make that 32. It's frightening; it truly is. I have to brave this Nor'easter to head on down to my own campus in about two hours, and I have a feeling a lot of students will be on edge about the potential for copy-cat shootings. Why aren't metal-detectors, strict dress codes, security cameras, etc. MANDATED at ALL public venues, such as school, college campuses, malls, etc.? Perhaps then a nut like this wouldn't be able to freely enter any building of his choice with a LOADED WEAPON and kill dozens. Those poor grieving families...
We are all a little lost for words now..It just wants you to hold your kids, tell em you love them and make sure they feel secure. I pray for the parents of those students who won't get the chance to do that today..May God bless, and comfort them.
Virginia Tech shootings. Horrible acts of rage. All the people affected by these insane acts. Much healing is in order for a long time to come.

I am writing from Europe, just after President Bush message. I would like to know what are they saying over there? here there are talking about weapons in the USA and questioning once again the policy on weapons.
32 killed (including shooter) and 20-29 wounded , devastating !
I heard that from Sky News.
What is going on in our country when our children cannot be safe even in school??? Im sitting here crying thinking of all the people that died today and are wounded. What would make someone line people up and just start to shoot??
Sadness now turning to anger ... two hours - two hours after the first deadly shooting in the dorm, and the students weren't notified till two hours later -- only to have that pos continue in another building. You'd think with the bmb threats ...Too angry now to type
