IMO that is even MORE biased than the one given in ONE language, ENGLISH!! If they can't read or understand English, they have NO business taking a fire fighters test anyway.
What exactly are you addressing?

SCOTUS upheld the white firefighters, so you're remark, "from now on" makes no sense. Both whites and minorities passed the test, it was only that white firefighters scored higher consistently that raised the issue of potential racial bias, so the rest of your post makes no sense.

I have a suggestion for the 4 dissenting SCOTUS justices, future justice Sotomayor, all the bleeding hearts, and mostly for the black fellas that failed the test:

Prepare.

That's right- prepare for it. Study. Its an exam. Were it a breeze, they would not give one or some of these guys would have passed. Prepare and pass. Personally, I am a horrid test taker and have had to go to some extraordinary lengths to pass some in the past.

It takes a really deranged sense of fatalism to believe that black men are incapable of passing such a test. Then again, all this inane talk of dialects or cultural bias shows who the real racists are.

no it only shows that some people are smarter and hardworking then, some people who are stupid or lazy.test can not be racially biased but it can only show who is more qualified for job and who is not

Fine, in some situations disadvantaged minorities including
white women, extra points are given.

Why the absence of outrage when white people receive extra points for "legacy admissions" to the top colleges because their grandparents, parents, or great grandparents attended the school.

The policy automatically excludes minorities because these same schools and people made sure none of "us" could attend or graduate from those schools.

You don't see the unfairness of this policy or the intent behind it?

What about getting into a top school because your family made a generous endowment, usually above what minority families can give, any opinion on that?

I personally have no problem with the supreme courts decission, however I find it ironic the hue and cry concearning affirmative action, which this case has no basis in and the overall ignorance and/or amnesia when it comes to the policies that benefit white people.

PS Could this be explained WITHOUT a bunch of "screw conservatives" and "left-wing nutjob" comments?
Anybody who has ever taught school can tell you how this was done.

Might have something to do with schools being private institutions versus the fire department, a public institution. Besides, being a legacy only gets you so much.

And most universities and colleges are begging for black students.

I think the Supremes sent a message to Sotomayor( and hopefully to others such as Eric Holder) that racism and affirmative action are going the way of the dinosaur. Its time to move on and just deal with equality in its purest form.
