You know when the debate is about over when people start pulling out "the closers" (racist, hatred, intolerant, Bush did it, homophobe, war-monger, etc., etc., etc.). When that's all that's left, it's pretty much done. People have nowhere else to go, so it's about getting someone to back down through trying to get them to go, "No, no, no...not me. You win."

Surely you are a bigger person than this in real life. . . than to actually grade someone's post. . . . Don't let frustration with inability to come up with an appropriate response drag you down to this.

Well this thread has become a prime example of what I hate about the internet: people jockey for the prime position of who is the biggest asshat come racist bigot like they are vying for a medal at the Olympics. Sheesh.

You're in the "Politics and Controversies" forum. You didn't expect this to become controversial in nature given the blatant racism that was displayed in this case?

Come on...

The sad part, today's society grants them an automatic win for using those words.

Please invite a professional linguist to this board to explain the different dialects of standard written American English. It would be most interesting.

Well, for instance, if there was a question on the exam that asked about watermelons and fried chicken, or pimps and hos, someone might say it's racially-biased.

But you know, some people are just hypersensitive. You can't please them, no matter what you do.

No, not really. I never quite expect people to wear their racism on their shoulder like a badge of honor, controversial topics or not. Sometimes I would swear people see the internet then twirl around and squee as they cry "wee, virtual hoods to go with our KKK robes."
