Officials investigating slaughter of 32 say man arrived in August from China

Authorities investigating the killing of 32 people at Virginia Tech today, the deadliest shooting rampage in U.S. history, are targeting a Chinese man who arrived in the U.S. last year on a student visa, a source told the Chicago Sun-Times.

Investigators have not linked the 24-year-old to any terrorist group, the paper said.

The man, with a visa issued in Shanghai, arrived Aug. 7 in San Francisco on United Airlines. Three reported bomb threats on the campus last week might have been attempts by him to test the campus' security response, the source told the Sun-Times.

This is sickening. I am sorry to say that these student visas shud be screened better, I dont know psychological profiles something. My emotions are stirring and all I could think of are these families. Children missing parents, parents missing children; it just isnt fair. We need to protect our citizens and especially are children. If this means limiting visas than so be it.

Default No surprise to me

I was stationed in S. Korea in the Army about 15 years ago. There was ALOT of anti-Americanism among the young people there, and I see and read things more recently that indicate those attitudes are just the same if not worse.
Even in Communist countries like China and Vietnam, the people have much more of an affinity for Americans than in lovely, democratic, S. Korea.
It was my feeling that many of the young people there are spoiled little brats, living in a free and fairly prosperous country, with no appreciation of all the American blood shed there 50 years ago to make it possible. Many of the young S. Koreans actually sympathize with N. Korea, the most despotic and repressive communist country on the planet. Figure that one out.

A US resident alien IS a legal resident. Different wording same definition.
