There is another thread that is about the repeal of the 22nd Amendment. I disagree, but I DO agree that we should have term limits for Congress.

What do you think? YES or NO?

I think 4 years is good. 2 may be too short to actually get legislation written, through all the committees and voted on.

I think the longer one stays there the easier it is to become "bought out".
Fresh faces would keep the lobbyists scrambling and keep some level of objectivity in Congress.

Limit senators to 2 consecutive terms; reps to 4 consecutive terms.

Yes. I don't know what length I'd say the terms should be limited to, but I think there should be a limit.

I used to be against term limits because I felt our vote was a defacto term limit. But with the way these districts are drawn now to rig it so a particular person stays in power is disgusting.

I totally agree!! We need term limits for congress to bring new ideas but most of all, I think it would greatly reduce corruption.

The only way would be a Constitution convention as they will never propose it themselves. I think it should be on term as a senator and 3 terms as a house member. I vote non incumbent every election. We as voters need to realize these career politicians do not care about America. The job was suppose to be part time. Term limits yes

That's the difficult part, getting them to all agree on a convention. If enough of us start writing our congress saying we want them to push this, it may happen. If they fail, then we could simply fire them by voting them out.
