We all know Obama's town halls are managed events; not just anyone can partake. But did he pre-choose who he would randomly pick ?

washingtonpost.com

snippet:
"The president called randomly on three audience members. All turned out to be members of groups with close ties to his administration: the Service Employees International Union, Health Care for America Now, and Organizing for America, which is a part of the Democratic National Committee. White House officials said that was a coincidence."

Is it really a surprise that people who are active in the Democratic party would constitute the majority at an Obama event?

Even so, the people who are going to show up to these events are going to be politically active people. These people would be the first in line to such an event and probably represent a larger fraction of the crowd than if you were just walking down the street picking people out.

The cats out of the bag on this - they are stage events with a pre-screened audience and pre-screened softball questions.

Completely worthless.

The fact is that Obama couldn't do or say anything that isn't set up for him. He has proven that. At least Clinton could think on his feet, whether one liked or likes him or not.

Not worthless, very effective way to get your message out. It's been done many times before. You really expect him to pack the room with opponents?

Except that nobody is watching it and once you are cognizant of the fact that it is totally staged and there will be no contrary opinions - most people have the common sense to know they won't get the answers from such a phony forum.
