This all happened before Obama even touched a legal pad with the Executive Seal on it. So, given that what was happening clearly wasn't working maybe something different??? Seems reasonable to me. Also, the precedent for "bailouts" wasn't set by Obama. The bank bailouts and the start of bailout proceedings for the car companies was started before Obama took office. Bailouts are not his invention. I believe he would have taken a different path and I believe it was intentionally engineered for things to crash and burn before Obama took office so that he would have no choice but to work with the restructuring efforts underway. Much the same way that the U.S. swore to remain in Iraq till 2011 before Obama took office. It was well known that he favored an earlier pullout. Now he is being called a campaign fraud when it was clearly not his intention to make any treaty guaranteeing a U.S. presence in Iraq till 2011.

In a nutshell..if it aint broke..don't fix it..meaning..this Country was built on free market capitalism which has made us the wealthiest and most influential nation, and the most ENVIED nation (code word for hated) in the world. I am not saying that Obama founded Socialism..that he has cornered the market on Socialism, but clearly his thoughts, words, actions and associations define him as a Socialist. What is wrong with that?? Well..name me one Socialist nation in the world where Socialism works?? It doesn't..simply because by its very definition it discourages / punishes ambition and wealth..and encourages dependency and lethargy (dont know if that is spelled correctly). I kinda like our country and would respectfully suggest to those that dont that instead of trying to force socialistic ideals upon the majority of the people who clearly do not subscribe to this way of thinking...that those who do..look elsewhere for domicile..why not try living in one of these Socialist socities for a while..try it out..and see if you like it. Then if one does..then one can stay and drain that society. But please stay out of our business. Thank you very much!! And yes..Bush was not a conservative and bs'd us too..he let the Repubs rob us too...so I think if we deported all of the pols elsewhere..that most of us would be better off anyway.

Look at the big picture..stop hating Bush (as payback for the Clinton impeachment) and think for a moment. "the history of this Country..not using the last 8 years to throw capitalism out the window"

Pretty much - I never understood those posts that say "NObama is the worse president ever...his wife looks like a man," I don't get how you finding his wide unattractive makes him a better or worse president but there are many things I don't get in this forum

But the name calling and hatred is just asinine. I disagreed with Bush, but I wasn't immature about it. I actually liked his personality. He saw the house of cards and our fake propped up economy falling in around us.

A rational person with any common sense should know that 20 years of bad fiscal policy and overspending, can't be fixed in a matter of months. On the other hand, as short sighted as it it, I understand it's on the shoulders of the current administration.

It's going to get allot worse before it gets better. Our national, corporate, and personal debts/greed has helped to lower the standard of living for a generation.
While I don't agree with it all, well said post!

I think there are a lot of people with limited education in policy who react with emotional populism. They struggle to see the bigger picture of what Obama's doing.
Or maybe a lot of people, even those with limited education, can see that massive spending and growing of our government is a move in the direction of socialism. Maybe a lot of those people don't feel that adding trillions dollars in debt and taxing those who create jobs is a good way of turning our economy around. Maybe people with a limited education still have enough common sense to understand that punishing success and rewarding failure isn't a good approach towards building prosperity.

We aleready have a problem in that too many pay no ncomne tax and even more use more services than they pay for. Its become a economy where more and more depend on less and less people to pay for governamnt services. It juts does work very well as more and mroe people ahve no real stake in the h in the governamnt other than drwawing form it. Its a imbalance that is getting worse and can be sustained with out massive cuts at some point.
