"Impeached" was a reference to the trail, not the out come. An "impeachment" IS a trail.

The Repugs are just that - repugnant!!!!!!!!!

I'm not even classified as a Liberal or Democrat, just an independent voter that looks at both sides. Lately the Repugs have focussed all their attention on same-sex marriage, abortion, Illegal immigrants, Religion, and gun rights. The Moderate-conservatives that might not agree with everything they stand for are labeled as leftists, socialists, communists, or un-American.

If they don't clean up their act and start being more inclusive of the Moderates and independents they will lose big-time again in 2010 and 2012!!!!!!!!!

Face the facts------------
Unless Obama screws up badly he will be in until 2016.

More people are conservative than not on the social issues you mentioned. For example, put gay marriage on the ballot and it will fail everywhere, just as it did in liberal California.

If Obama does not turn around the economy he will have a difficult time being re-elected. It will all come down to the economy.

I think he has already screwed up badly.

It's waaaay too early to determine if Obama has a good shot at being re-elected. I'm concerned with the direction our country is headed but only time will tell how effective or ineffective his leadership will be.

Socialism has never worked, its been tried many times and always failed.

Only fools try the same thing and expect different results.

Obama needs to take Powell's advice. He has too many irons in the fire. Some believe this is the case because he'll probably lose a dem majority congress in 2010. I don't know if that's the case. Rather, it may be a learning curve. Either way, if he keeps on trying to do too much too soon, it will probably back fire on him.

Sorry to disappoint you. No depression; no soup lines; no 1930s replay. Oh well, guess we can't win them all...too bad.

Obama will not be reelected, unless the Republicans just fall apart and can't nominate a viable candidate, which is possible. If they can manage a well funded and well prepared candidate who is not a religious zealot, someone like Giuliani or Romney or in their mold, then I think there is a good probability that Obama is a one term prez.

Actually, the recession of 1980 and the recession of 1981 thru 1982 were considered to be separate recessions.
