Having some "challenged" family members, although not to the extent of the Palins I found this to be a very jarring remark. I'm sure she meant it from the heart, but it's very bizarre sounding to many people I've spoken with.

And this from a woman who constantly says, "leave my kids alone".

OMG.
It means we as adults can learn from children with disabilities or diseases even. their strength's, their attitudes, their innocence, their fight, their courage, their love, it puts life in perspective and points out the really important things that life has to offer us if we choose to listen we all can learn from children with challenges. And we should for they have more backbone and integrity than most adults these days.

And that's why what you wrote is what Palin should have said instead. You should offer her your services. She needs all the help she can get.

That's what I don't get. She constantly says that while pushing their names into the spotlight.

You must remember that the narrow minded intolerant left are so filled with hate they have no comprehension past their hate. Anyone with a brain or that has been around someone with disabilities understands that you can learn from them.
