The liberals (mostly from MA, NJ, CT, etc.) you find typically in places like Portland...I love Northern Maine, I can't stand Southern Maine, it's turning into Northern MA.

Not VA, parts of Nothern CA and the PNW that are not liberal, there was a movement to make a new state there...just as many secessionists in Northern Maine want it to be a new state, not necessarily its own country...

I would probably like northern maine too, but it's way too far north. after looking at property taxes in vermont, I won't be moving there either. it's absurd.

Yeah, the high real estate prices and taxes because of all the rich outsiders coming in...it's driving a lot of native VT'ers out of the state.

I think that the US is either going to join with canada and mexico, or the US is going to split up into 3-4 sections.

that's really sad, because where my grandparents live is beautiful. but they pay about $15,000 per year in property taxes. not sure how we will be able to keep that house in the family at those rates.
