I actually have several and we get along just fine. I think the difference is that my liberal friends are a lot like myself. They have some areas where they tend to be more conservative and others where they are very liberal. They think a lot and are more than willing to discuss and agree to disagree. I think that on both sides of the middle it is the blind sheep that are impossible to deal with. AS long as you know your leanings and why you believe in them people can agree to disagree as adults.

Then they are not really "liberal".

and you are not really liberal if you would "disown" someone who disagrees with you, either that or the definition of liberal sure has changed.

as for me, i almost kissed a liberal once, but then i sobered up.

I am sure they would disagree with you. You see they are capable of agreeing to disagree which is not possible for most liberals on CD.

Fix the fear first, then worry about the solution to the problem!

The solution?
Either
A. Dont talk politics
B. If you do talk politics, respectfully state your opinion and feelings, and engage in intelligent conversation. Thats conversation, not arguements.
Agreed - I have many conservative friends and it's a delicate dance at times...

As someone on (I think) the other side, we usually just agree to disagree if it goes on for long enough. I've gotten into some pretty good political discussions with friends though and it forces me to think about my own views a bit more.

Great post, I feel the same way (I'm pretty liberal, except my conservative friends and I tend to agree when it comes to violent crimes).

It's called maturity and adulthood - I don't want to only have people in my life who think exactly like me!

If indeed you have children I pity them. I doubt you do though.
