Saudis give nod to Israeli raid on Iran - Times Online

The head of Mossad, Israel’s overseas intelligence service, has assured Benjamin Netanyahu, its prime minister, that Saudi Arabia would turn a blind eye to Israeli jets flying over the kingdom during any future raid on Iran’s nuclear sites...“The Saudis have tacitly agreed to the Israeli air force flying through their airspace on a mission which is supposed to be in the common interests of both Israel and Saudi Arabia,” a diplomatic source said last week.
And then there is this:

Israel navy resumes sailing in Suez Canal - UPI.com

After a four-year break, the Israel Navy has resumed sailing through the Suez Canal, The Jerusalem Post said in an exclusive report...According to the report published Friday, the navy, in a distinct change in policy, recently sent a Dolphin class submarine, through the canal to participate in drills in the Red Sea off the southern tip of Israel...The paper (Jerusalem Post) said the move could be perceived as a strengthening of ties between Egypt and Israel, and a signal to Iran that it can move quickly, in the event of a conflict with the Islamic Republic
Interesting.

I doubt the nations in the area want to see Iran with a nuclear weapon.

Biden: US not stand in Israel's way on Iran - Boston.com (http://www.boston.com/news/nation/washington/articles/2009/07/05/biden_us_will_not_stand_in_israels_way_on_iran/?rss_id=Boston.com+--+National+news - broken link)

Looks like Biden is giving the green light as well - I wonder if he has checked with the Big Guy on this?

Quote:
WASHINGTON—Vice President Joe Biden seemed to give Israel a green light for military action to eliminate Iran's nuclear threat, saying the U.S. "cannot dictate to another sovereign nation what they can and cannot do."
Maybe obama will use the threat of attack from Israel to negotiate with Iran?

Someone has to stand up to Iran. It sure as hell hasn't been the United States.

I'm thinking the best way to have Saudi Arabia's tacit permission revoked is by going public with it. I wonder if this disclosure isn't an act of diplomatic sabotage.

That is a good point. It also makes sense that Saudi Arabia would be helping Israel in a potential strike against Iran secretly. Israel is a Jewish state, Iran is a Shi'a and Saudi Arabia is Sunni. Nothing quite like secretly enabling your enemies to fight each other, while not getting directly involved. This becoming public ruins that for the kingdom.
