Thank you Marlow. Besides Mrs. Obama is not an elected official. JCrew is on speed dial with getting money into their accounts from the children wearing their clothes.

The title of this thread is just awful!

In the past, first lady Michelle Obama has publicly credited J.Crew a number of times for designing her duds, including the yellow sweater-set and skirt she famously wore on “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” during the campaign. And the company took credit for creating the coats and gloves the first daughters wore during the Inauguration.

The press release marks one of the few times the Obama girls, whose public appearances the president and first lady keep tightly controlled, have been highlighted in a marketing campaign to sell specific products or labels.

Yes - they're THE DESIGNER of her clothing. They're not designing them FOR her, they're the DESIGNER.

I give Prada credit for designing my handbag. That does not mean they designed it FOR me.

SHE is not highlighting them - JCREW is, without her permission!

Heather Lynch McAuliffe, the vice president of J.Crew public relations, said the White House did not approve the release before she sent it.

I cannot call Michelle the H word in the thread title, because I am white and it would be classed as racism.

You know they must has a really bad case of noassatall for them to be so engrossed in MO's behind. It's actually really sad to watch them embarass themselves.

Again with the left/right thing. This is simply a matter of respect. Just as I am currently annoyed with these comments about Michelle Obama, I was also annoyed when people were making snide remarks about Sarah Palin's physical appearance. This kind of debate is not necessary. There are things called "real issues." Let's talk about those.

This is about the 500th time you've accused the Obamas of some heinous act that has no basis in reality. What is wrong with you people?
Truthfully, the link does not specify who paid for the clothing. Do you have information from another link?
If Michelle went after the toy company for selling dolls of the children without her permission, why isn't she going after J. Crew for posting pics without her permission?

Anyway, these clothes were rather expensive for a working family. With the daughters being represented as a type of role model for being part of an "average" family, it must be disappointing for children their age to discover just how out of reach the clothing is for their own family to purchase.

Next time how about using clothes from Target? That's what the family of a community organizer should wear.......clothes that the community can actually purchase.

Welcome to the reality of being President! That's partly why they look so bad after their term in office.
