The Economist:MEANWHILE, whatever happened to Bobby Jindal? At one point he was the great hope of the GOP and now we hardly hear a word about him. The change dates to February 24th, 2009, when, anointed by his party, he gave a goofy speech in response to Barack Obama's first address to Congress. He was slammed by press and public alike and seemed to disappear overnight.Searching For Bobby Jindal

I read the article and came to the same conclusion that the article did, unlike the other GOP crazies, he has decided to spend more time working for his state, rather than chasing the national limelight. An incredibly smart move, taking the most obvious and logical course.

It's amazing how one television appearance can make a politician irrelevant. Howard Dean can attest to that

Haha, on the same token though I've seen politicians overcome worse. I think he may be watching to see what the economy is going to do before he comes forward again with any more definitive statements.

Amazing and unfortunate. I was not a fan of Dean, but I was a little peeved at how the media took control and doomed his chances. Jindal, on a much smaller scale, has suffered the same treatment. American' media sucks ass.

I think Bobby is laying low and taking it easy.
I read an article last week or farther back that said he wasn't making a bid for POTUS in 12.
I don't buy it, we'll see him in the primary. But I think he's smart. He knows a lot can and will change in the next 4 LONG years, and he knows if he makes his bid now the press as well as the flaming *******s will eat him alive and disect every aspect of his life and career before he even has his chance.

I agree. Over-exposure in the media has killed more than one political aspiration. I have often thought that that's the entire purpose behind alot of political reporting that we see these days, and its a crying shame. Power to the people is long gone.
