Any black person that shouts racism today is just doing it so they can take advantage of others. Slaves were freed over a 100 years ago and they at that time had the opportunity to go out and make it on their own just like anybody else. Some have and can really be proud of themselves. The reason the rest don't absolutely puzzles me.
A lot of black people are suffering from an unforgiving spirit. You can't move forward until you let go of the past. I hope they will soon be able to do this before they destroy our nation.
This is the crux of the issue ... I know the past was painful but in order to trully mend, there needs to be forgiveness of the past. We can't change the ugly stain of slavery but we can move forward if we choose to. Unfortunately there is too much unforgiveness on the black side and still lots of ignorance on the white side (I never knew the extent until I joined CD though). White folks are not the only perpetrators of racism and we need to recognize that all forms of racism (including the attacked described in the article) is WRONG!
It appears self-imposed segregation might be a starting solution for races/cultures who cannot or will not live in harmony together. There are enough problems with human nature's natural bent toward hatred and violence without throwing in the factor of different races trying to live together in a very complex society. Multiculturalism just doesn't work, except in a dictatorship. Anyone for that?
Formally, I don't see it happening, but informally it's happening all over the place. Take the Washington DC metro area for example. Washington DC is majority black. Northern Virginia (the suburbs) are about as lily white as it gets. Southern Maryland (the suburbs) are an eclectic mix but vastly segregated by its own doing, with blacks, whites, and hispanics carving out their own enclaves. From an equality standpoint, we're all the same. From a social standpoint, every single person on this earth is racist in some way shape or form, and most of us would prefer to live in communities that reflect our own values and culture.
Our ancestors built a country where White people can be free to do as they want .
Fixed.
