It's great entertainment. There's not much value in most of what's posted here, other than the entertainment value. Watching people fall over themselves with their unrelenting, blind support of cause X or issue Y is great.

Agree, entertainment value is there. I laugh all day in my cubicle and my collegues are always asking why.
I enjoy the give and take. But what is most special and unexpected is when mutual respect and understanding happens even though we know we will never agree with one another.
I'll second this. I'll also say that I've had my perspective shifted at times by well thought out perspectives of others.
Because it shows me a different point of view on subjects that I wouldn't have seen without someone showing me. Also confirms to me that while there are some extreme nutjobs on both sides who can't be reasoned with, the majority of people are moderate and are capable taking steps towards compromise.
