This is crazy. Emmett Till is buried in this cemetery.

Quote:
A group of Illinois grave diggers were charged Thursday with running a morbid scam in which they exhumed corpses in a historic black cemetery to resell the empty plots, cops said.

Investigators suspect more than 300 bodies were dug up in the suburban Chicago graveyard and discarded in a pit so the ghouls could cash in.

Four nabbed in ghoulish scheme to dig up graves in historic Illinois cemetery

You can never ever ever trust anybody in the funeral or cemetary business. Most all of them are a bunch of criminals. There was a case in New York awhile back where they were taking skin and bones and replacing them with PVC pipe in bodies so they could sell the parts. And if you think they are actually going to bury Aunt Alice with that diamond ring on her finger, you'd better think again!

When I read about this in the paper I was so enraged that I actually "saw red" for a moment. When trying to talk about it I stutter I'm so angry. Vile, vile, vile people.

Ok, I have no idea how this cemetary business works. But it seems to me, when you dig up caskets, you're left w/a big hole. How on earth would anyone in their right mind want to say "hell yeah, an empty plot! Looks like someone was previously resting there & who knows where they are now, but hotdog! I got meself a plot!" Although I guess the family never actually sees the spot before the actual burial so they would never know someone was there previously. Anyone work at a cemetary or a funeral home who can explain to us how it works? I've had people close to me die but I was never involved in the actual arrangements so I have no idea how it works.

USATODAY.com

Anyone remember this case from 2002 where this Georgia crematorium owner took people's money without actually cremating anyone? They just buried people's bodies around the crematoruim.

God only knows what really goes on behind the scenes. Stories like this are just awful. Many people will be wondering if their loved ones have been desecrated.

Not enough that a 13-year-old boy was savagely beaten to death by a couple of white racist neanderthals. Now even his grave is violated? Unbelievable.

Some were dumped in the back and some were stacked on top of others the bottom sometimes being crushed to accommodate the next casket.
They kept terrible records and just cared about the money.
