Perhaps you are simply one more Republican who cannot find a defense for Cheney, since you certainly made no attempt to make one. Did you not read the thread? No one mentions the Democrats you named because they have absolutely nothing to do with whatever crimes Dick Cheney may have committed. It seems to escape GOP posters that Cheney is the topic of the thread. If you want to criticize the current administration, by all means start your own thread, with that as the OP. You can't be much more blindly partisan than to have the thread topic zip right over your head...as if it won't be real if you ignore it. It's very real, and we aren't whining...we're disgusted that this sorry coward would begin a program of torture, profit from the war, and lie to begin said war. And the challenge is for the GOP to defend that...too difficult? And don't worry about Putin...Bush looked into his eyes, read his soul, and found him to be a trustworthy guy. Can't defend that nonsense either, can you?
As I stated above, the topic of this thread is not Cheney, but the hatred and blind partisanship that has led people like you into expressing themselves in constant paroxysms of vindictiveness and paranoia.
If the Iraq war is a lie, why does the current administration continue to prosecute it -- and escalate another, even more deadly one, in Afghanistan? Does that make Mr. Obama and his advisors "liars" and "cowards", as well? Or are they simply too weak to end the Bush/Cheney policies -- even with the moronic Al Franken and his 60th vote? Or do those terms only fit people who belong to another political party than you?
I think you know the answer -- and it involves double standards and the kind of hypocrisy that characterizes the Democrats just as much as the Republicans.
You act as if the entire argument revolves around one unpleasant man; well, here's news for you: it doesn't. It has to do with the ethical and moral bankrupty which infects our entire political system, which is based on achieving power rather than practicing good governance.
Any child knows that. Except, apparently, those children who continue to yammer about Dick Cheney as if he were the bad man under their bed who has the power to make them frightened and angry. And wet themselves.
Then justice will not take place.....at least not during his life on earth. There still will be justice waiting for him that he will not be able to avoid.
