For those of you who think that I am wrong about the need to cut military spending, here is a report you may want to look at. The amount of waste going on with our military spending is staggering. We can't afford health care for our children, but we will pay Haliburton to abandon $85,000 trucks when they get a flat tire.
See? Cut the waste and corruption and you'll have your half of the military budget!
There may be some reason for this. Think about this- you are driving through a dangerous neighbourhood at night and you get a flat. How do you feel? Now imagine a neighbourhood 100 times more dangerous than that! How do you think the truck driver feels? Do you want them to risk their lives trying to change a flat with people all around that want to kill them? Lives are not worth a truck.
Is there an excuse for this one? Green Beret electrocuted in shower on Iraq base

If I have 85,000 car and I am driving through a bad neighborhood and get a flat, I get my butt out of the car and change the da***n tire and then get the heck out of there. Safer than walking out of the neighborhood. Can't justify this.
There have been numerous stories about Haliburton over in Iraq. I have read several about the soldiers and Haliburton.
Fire them and demand they return our money. They are nothing but Cheney's minions anyway.

Did you notice anything a bit strange about that piece? I noticed a non-Democrat in charge of the committee which was right for the year that the thing was dated, 2004. Is there a difference in any of the conditions in Iraq today, 2009, and then, 2004. I am not going to read a five year old report from the House.
I agree....For the life of me I can not understand HOW they are getting away with it and there is no public outcry.
How does the public cry out when the report was dated 2004 and the committee chairman was a Republican? Come on you know the difference in Iraq in 2004 and 2009, I hope.
