California is 49th in literacy. It is true and do you want to know why? Because a little sparrow landed on my shoulder and whispered it in my ear

About as credible as your source in other words
Believe what you want. But don't say you wern't informed of the fact.

Of course if you read the source (the bush watch) you can see how little credibility this has.

I could come up with a totally wrong hateful link concerning California, but I wouldn't because it would have no credibility and would be biased. Try and find us all a credible link next time

University Relations: Books, Music, Arts and Fun

"More than three million Texans are considered to be functionally illiterate, while one in four Texans lacks reading and writing skills, and our state of Texas has the unimaginable distinction of ranking 47th lowest among the 50 states in reading and writing literacy."

Okay, I was wrong:

47th.

Wait! It's them damn commie intellectuals!

I've seen this game played in SC.

At least you haven't called 'em "yankees", yet........

Let's see..the OP commented on Texas conservative economic policies.

Yes, the tightwads in Texas prevented our state from hanging by a thread like California.
Is that bad somehow ?

Point is California is even MORE conservative in taxing than Texas is, which is why they have the problems they do.

Although in any reasonable measure of social wellbeing they still rank ahead of Texas.

Yeah, if you like to operate with zero context. Some policies are good, other policies are bad, and saying "liberal bad, conservative good" is true is dumb as hell. Look at the policies and you might actually learn something (doubt you're gonna do this though).
