American International Group Inc. is asking the Obama administration's new compensation czar whether it should pay previously agreed-to retention bonuses, including about $235 million pending for employees at the insurer's controversial financial products unit, according to people familiar with the matter.
True, but $235M of the bonuses are pending for the Financial Products Unit, which did f*ck it up.
well if these people are getting bonus, that means they are getting to goals that are set...if they're not reaching any goals and are getting bonuses than there is something wrong there.

'Goals'? They would have gone bankrupt if this stupid gov didnt bail them with my tax dollars, They failed as a company. Goals? How about try and figure out how you f*cked up, without spending any more of my money.

I need a job where I can F-up so bad that the government has to step in with 2 bailouts to save my company and I still get a bonus at the end of the year. Everywhere I have worked my employer paid us for performance and that's just total bull****. I prefer the AIG plan. If they throw in a couple of those corporate retreats along with the bonus I'll screw up so bad that it will take the government 3 bailouts to pull us through. Hell, I'll even burn the building down if they toss in a company car! I'm on board! Sign me up!
