You don't fib much either do you?

After reading the last few pages on this thread, I believe the answer to the OP's question lies somewhere within them.

We might not agree on anything or everything, but that doesn't mean we should let this degenerate into a name calling, finger pointing free-for-all.

Somehow the even kookier idea came up that we have to apologize to the rest of the world for being America. What the heck has happened? My opinion is that our schools and universities have indoctrinated all of this into our youth. America is chaning for the worse and nobody realistic can argue that. We are going to be bankrupt, super high inflation and taxed to death. The dollar is not going to be worth anything in a few short years. We are ALL going to suffer if things are not moved away from our current path. Can't anyone else see all of this? Our nation is being divided by people who dislike America for what it stood for and why it was founded...I find this all very sad and sickening, "we the people" need to stop this path of destruction for America.
Well said! I completely agree.

We are a nation of freeloaders.

Socialism will be the end of the United States and will destroy the foundation it was created upon. If things don't improve, we're just going to meld in with the rest of the countries and thats when the struggle to survive and live freely will really begin. So if you think things are tough now, wait until we are on an equal playing field with everyone else.

Couldn't be that the top 1% tripled their wealth in the past decade and now has more than the rest of us combined, could it?

Maybe.. . . such a great division in wealth amoung a population does not lead to harmony!

What happened to us ?

Apathy, complacency, sense of entitlement, greed, egocentricity.
I'm sure there's more but this is what I see wrong. My opinion.

Hm, didn't see the name mentioned until you brought it up. I agree, though, it IS tired, like the rants about Bush, still.

Why work for something when you can get it for "free"?

Why work for something when someone else wants to take it away?

That sums up the new "American way".

Sad.

Technology---- Well , let's just say for (me) -disabled from 2 broke ankles, and a bad back surgery (56)-I try to get Dr.s to listen, -lucky IF I get 3 minutes, they just push me on to another Dr; on and on. NO WONDER WHY " ?some people take drugs- (which I don't )-TIRED OF "ALL FOR (THEM) -meaning , not just Dr.s but , in general , everyone--what they CAN GET-FOR 'THEMSELVES"---NO compassion,,, and with "technology " -to me -should be good for people in NEED- BUT life for people -(to me) "one -on one" for 'discussing /talking is GONE, all cell phones, computers, and TOO BAD --- for you (me).
