My guess is you don't make a million dollars, I am sure you don't see a problem.

Go ahead pay 70% no one will stop you.

What have any of you Libs done to better the community for these poor slackers besides yell and scream from your upper eastside Manhattan condos about how evil capitalism is?

Probably nothing

I gave a couple of young men who've never worked before jobs last week.

What condo in Manhattan? I get absolutely ill every time I go east of the Rockies, unless it's to continue on over the water.

Good on you for helping, Metlakatla! Simply raising the taxes on the wealthiest back to Clinton-era levels merits hysteria amongst the middle class? Who'd have guessed?

Andrew Carnagie gave millions to Pittsburgh, the Carnegie museum is one of many examples
George Eastman also left a huge mark on Rochester. Ever hear of the Eastman school of music?

Dear Off topic. You are assuming that none of the people you quoted above or any other wealthy philanthropist are not liberal. I believe if you do a music endowment you are probably a liberal. Ted Turner is definitly a liberal and he has given billions to Charity.

We are not talking about giving to Charity. What we are talking about is for the people that have benefitted the most from being americans to give a proportional share back for that benefit. I am sure the very wealthy are extremely happy that you are on their side. You should expect a thank you note from them any day.

What are charities? They are for the benefit of the LESS FORTUNATE, which can include slackers. Of course given your response, I can guarantee which option YOU voted for

Check it out my friend, unfortunately liberals are tight wads.

"Liberals show tremendous compassion in pushing for government spending to help the needy, but when it comes to individual contributions to charitable causes, they are cheapskates."

There is a difference between someone making $350K a year an $3mil a year.

That guy making $3mil has that money well invested to avoid taxes.
That guy making $350K may very well be your doctor who, after paying insurance etc doesn't live so high on the hog.

I can see the $350K folks doing something about this. They are not rich enough to use the loopholes yet not poor enough to avoid the taxes.

If I were in that position (making $350K) I'd be planning to power down and earn much, much less.

You and I have been paying for it for decades, sorry you ain't bright enough to recognize it. Our hospital bills and health insurance costs are skyrocketing because we have been paying all along.

If everyone could have access to primary (preventive) care then we would not be spending outrageous sums when they become gravely ill. The only problem is that there is no health care plan that can fix stupid, so we will be plagued with selfish idiots that only think about themselves.

You probably buy into the propaganda that we have a good health care system, where when measured in success (health people, longer lives, infant mortality) or system SUCKS
