If I were in that position (making $350K) I'd be planning to power down and earn much, much less.[/quote]

Cool. There will be more 350K jobs available. Sign me up.

I can easily see my company just dropping it so they can save money.
They ended pensions and told us 401K's were better.
I can see them dropping private insurance saying public is much better.

You bet, this is much better for them because they get to keep that much more money they would have otherwise spent on employee benefits.

No I do not see this creating any healthy competition at all.

I have never been unemployed in my life. I will probably work until the day I die. I actually enjoy what I do for a living, but yet I don't mind pooling money to pay for health care for people who can't afford to pay for healthcare or are unemployed. We all benefit. I have no idea what it feels like to carry so much hate for other americans. I hope I never do.

Don't have time to go through the thread, but why don't Obama and the Democrats tell fat poor people to stop eating McDonalds, get off their butts and make nutritious meals that don't turn people into slobs? So much savings could go around if people ate better and maintained healthier lifestyles. It bothers me that tax dollars are being used to treat gluttons who should have taken responsibility for their health a long time ago.

Hating other Americans means subsidizing a certain portion that is worthless by choice with their many filthy habits?

You seem to hate anyone who is doing well.... and this makes you different how???

You are exactly right. Insurance companies will consolidate. Private insurance will be a luxury and priced as such. Eventually their will be a 2 tiered system a public system which will be like the DMV and a private system that will be like the Four Seasons. We will read stories about the disparity in life expectancy between the rich and poor.
